Loch at Sunrise
by Jesse Speer
My alarm went off at 5 a.m. and I crawled out of bed to retrieve my food bag, which was hanging in some nearby trees. After a quick bite to eat, I walked over to the edge of the lake and prepared for sunrise photography as the winds cut into any exposed skin. I had hoped for a reflection of the Cathedral Wall in the lake, but the cold temps and high winds created a thin layer of icy, slush on the lake surface. It was beautiful nonetheless, and I spent about 15 minutes photographing the alpenglow.
